Signing triggers the part of the brain that processes linguistic information through the eyes. Sign language does not only consist of movement of the hands, but also facial expressions and body movements in order to convey messages effectively. While ASL is predominantly used in the United States, it is accepted in many high schools, colleges and universities around the world.
Both types of English sign language are the same level of difficulty and usage is widely dependent on your area of residence Learning BSL does not mean you will understand ASL however as although they both communicate English; they are very different.
